As an artist deeply engaged in the dialogue between materiality and meaning, I create mixed media collages and intricately scaled sculptures that reflect my fascination with transformation. Since learning to transform a flat piece of metal into a vessel during my formative teenage years, I have been captivated by the process of material transformation.

My recent sculptures have explored the potential of layering materials thick and thin, delicate and bold. By using found and repurposed objects, I allow abstract ideas to emerge through play and interaction. Innocuous items like plastic pull tabs, bottle caps, and flattened cans are embedded in resin and paper pulp, or combined with cardboard, wood, and metal.

I am a hunter and gatherer of all sorts of found materials and objects that make their way into my work in one way or another. Whether its a walk in prospect park, on the sidewalks of Brooklyn or a sandy beach my eyes are to the ground scavenging for materials to combine urban with natural in both collage and sculptural work.
